Then when getting in the car he said Grammy when is later. I asked why and he said Aunt Mandy is going to come spend the night with me in my fort isn't that cool. All the other babies in the nursery started screaming and he put his hands up like he was going to cover his ears.

He doesn't nurse but he likes the bottle and as of yesterday mostly bottles only 2 tube feedings and today all bottles no tube feeding so if he keeps it up he might be able to go home soon. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kaitlyn had babysittiing money and wanted to go get a hair cut. Panic. But we went to Katy's (Nephew's wife) new solon. Katy was very good at keeping the length and adding bangs down the side. Then Kaitlyn said can you go shorter. I didn't say anything and Katy went about two more inches shorter with lots of layers. She still has long hair just about 5 inches shorter.

Looking for phot subects when I have the time. SO it just happen to be the dogs. Kaitlyn was trying to teach Kiwi "fetch" and Kiwi was trying to teach Kaitlyn "keep away". Kiwi won. Kaitlyn learned to chase Kiwi better then Kiwi learned to bring it back. (she never did) The one of Dakota is just cause that is his intelligent look and it's the only look he has. Tim said the other day he sometimes wonders how he remembers to breath. Well he's happy anyway. He does fetch and is very competive about it, he just has a hard time figuring out which way to run and it takes him a while to find the ball.

I got a new camera Sat. night but havent' had much time to play with it yet. I did go in and see Riley yesterday but it's hard to get pictures through the plastic and he was sleeping. So I went to Dee's to pick up Kaitlyn and Caiden (left him with them while went to go see Riley) So I worked on getting a good picture of Caiden. It's easy to get pictures of Kaitlyn because she has had YEARS of training. Any way can't wait to go somewhere and take pictures. I want to try out the zoom it has 20X optical zoom with 80X Total zoom. That will be so much different then my 4x zoom I had on the Nikon.

Everday another type of flower blooms through all my weeds. I am so far behind on my flower beds this year.

A picture Amanda sent from her phone today. She got to nurse him for the first time and then she headed home. I know tonight she will be tired and sore but at least she is getting better and soon Little Riley will be coming home. They said last night that anyday before his due date will be a bonus hopefully he doesn't have to stay another 5 weeks.

Today Caiden built a lego castle for Pumbaa his guinea pig so he could get outside and eat grass.

Grammy is so excited!! He sooooo adorable and he is quite the fighter. He has pulled off his sticky monitor off his chest pull out his air tube out of his nose. Tryed to get the tape off his upper lip and got mad when his hand and arm were out of the oxegen tent and cold. So he will fight to get stronger every minute.

Riley came into the world at 2:30AM weighing 3 pounds 15 ounces. 17 inches long. He is doing good breathing on his own now. Things got crazy in a hurry all of a sudden last night and we could have lost both of them in another 1/2 hour. So scary to think.

Amanda turns 23 today! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!!!!!!!! I'm singing this and lucky you, You can't hear me singing!
Well I came home at 6:30 Am this morning thinking she might get to go home today and rest for awhile. (that was the plan last night) then she calls and says the doctor came in this morning and said No going home preeclamsia is worse and they are thinking of doing an amemio (spelling?) on the baby and possibly induce today. But at least he can be born in Bellingham now. Caiden has been a trooper visiting friends and relatives this week. He got to stay home with daddy Tim last night and wake up at home. He is coming over in a bit so Tim can go to hospital and then I will go up later.

We are still watching monitors and the doctor just left again. Contractions all day 3 minutes apart but they decided that it was because she was dehydrated so IV's for the last couple hours then they are coming in with Morfeen(spelling?) Hoping to relax uterus and her to get sleep all night. They still want her to make it to at least Thursday to have him here. So I am going home later to sleep and hang with Caiden... I might stay home tomorrow if nothing changes. I don't mind hanging out but I'm not getting anything done at home.

Just got here this morning Ed is dropping Caiden off with Dee., Thank YOU Dee I know it's crazy to ask when you have been gone and up so late. Amanda is dialated to 2 and having contractions. They say she is still a day away from 34 weeks but they will let her deliver here. waiting for doctor to come in this morning. Blood preasure OK heart rate a little high. Don't know anything else.

sitting around here at the hospital watching Amanda sleep. Last night after the steriod shot they gave her 2 vicadin for head ache, Then her heart meds, then a sleeping pill then she was sick to her stomach so they gave her a pill. She was up most of the night I don't think she could handle that many different drugs at one time. Her contractions were buggung her so we timed them and watched TV from 2 to 6 AM. Waiting for the doctor this morning so we know more. But in the mean time I am bored on their lap top so thought I say hi..

Hello Amanda and I are spending the night at the hospital. They just came in and gave her a steroid shot for Riley's lungs because they don't think she will make it much longer. Her blood preasure is high and the pre eclampsia is getting worse. Tim just left to go home and get some sleep so he can be at work at 6 AM so he can have some days off with Riley when he gets here. In two days she will be 34 weeks pregnant and can have him here instead of in Seattle. So holding on hopefully. Well they will be back soon to do vitals and sleeping pill. Looks like if things don't get better she will be here until Riley arrives. (or Seattle)

All the kids were here at the same time and I didn't get a group picture. Bummer. Amanda and Caiden came over for mothers day. Caiden had made a really cute handprint picture for me, Then Erik came with his dog Ellie, and Carl, Kaisha, and Dominic came with their new puppy and their boxer Zues. So with our 4 dogs there was 7 dogs all playing. Kiwi thought she was pretty tough with the 8 week old rotweiler but wait a couple weeks and she will be running from him. I had to run to Blaine and deliver baby goats and come back so I didn't get to play with the kids the whole time but Uncle Erik did his share of swing pushing and ball throwing. Kaitlyn got me some new clear stamps I can't wait to get to scrapbook again. THANKS Everyone for coming and hanging out on Mothers Day.

Garage saling this weekend we found a pedal go cart for the boys. Caiden loved it and was speeding around the driveway. Also found a few toys and clothes for Riley.

Sunday Caiden came over to ride Jasmine with Auntie Kaitlyn. Sorry it's sideways for just a minute then turns. He is showing me his little tiny scratch from his cat Alex. Caiden wants to ride without a person walking in front but Jasmine won't move with a kid on her without an adult or Kaitlyn walking with. She walks real slow. But when Kaitlyn and Caiden were riding double she trotted and Caiden was giggling so hard and saying faster faster. This summer we will work on teaching him how to control the reins.

The boys were both here this week because Carl has gone back to work so Dominic is spending more time here with horsey grandma. It was so nice out Monday we never went in the house all day. Wednesday Dominic came with over to Amanda's while I painted and Caiden said he would share his toys and help babysit Dominic but wanted to know if he would have to change diapers. I told him I would do that and he was so glad. KIDS!

Cinder barking at Kaitlyn to get off the ball before she gets hurt. She is very bossy to Kaitlyn if she thinks she might do something to get hurt. How will Kaitlyn know when things are dangerous after Cinder dies. Kiwi is just watching thinking that ball looks like fun. Cinder is always looking out for Kaitlyn. A little while ago I was playing and swatted Kaitlyn on the butt and she grabbed my arm and pulled me away barking at me and very upset that I would hurt her kid. She has had a couple of bad days lately but is hanging in there. We watched Marley and Me last night and all cried our eyes out in the end knowing we will have to go through it sooner or later. The cancer is growing but most of the time she is doing OK. She is tired but rests up during the day so she is ready for Kait when she gets home.

I spent the last couple days painting Riley's room I took pictures but for some reason when I emailed them they didn't turn out very clear so maybe Amanda can put better ones on. The theme is froggy's so under the window I painted a frog on the lily pad one jumping into the water, a turtle, and a couple bugs. Amanda bought fabric for the curtains that I will get to this week some time. THen is will be ready for Riley. Lots of clothes and a very cute froggy rug are already in there.

The weather has been nice but it makes me work so much harder. I have been out trying to find all my flower beds and get them weeded and maintained. I am so sore when I come in at night. I know the rewards will be worth the work. I love the flowers when they are in bloom.

Well Caiden has grown into the bigger bike now. He can pedal forward but loves the brake. By next week he will be really good at steering, turning, pedaling and looking forward at the same time. Now he needs a bigger helmet because he has grown alot since last year.

Yesterday was Kaitlyn's volleyball tournament. They played 10 games (2 teams from each of the middle schools). They won 9 out of 10 games and I have to say those girls made some major improvements in their playing this season. They did a great job! Caiden thought he had to watch too many bally ball games yesterday. COngrats Kaitlyn

What a day we got a letter a month ago about the creek that runs on the back edge of our 3 1/2 acres. Not on our land but right on the edge. Anyway they said we needed to fence the animals back 50 feet from the edge. No big deal. Then they decided that the ditch that runs down the middle of our property from the state highway into the ditch that runs the length of our land and runs into the creek also have to be fenced off. Today they came out and decided that there are fish in the creek and it needs to be fenced back 100 feet on all sides of all water and that the ecology people need to come plant trees along the edge and that the animals can't graze or walk on the land. They need to be in pens and walked daily for exercise and any poop they do on our land has to be picked up and put in a covered compost that the rain can't get into. My barn is only 70 feet from the state ditch. We are sick to the point of wanting to throw up. We moved here to have a place for our animals and thought 3 1/2 acres would be great. They are even saying we can't mow our field but also can't have blackberries growing (which are all over back there) because they are not good for the fish. THey are a natural thing I don't get it!!!!!!!!! How can after raising and caring and loving these pets can we just get rid of them and end up with unusable land we can't sell because no one would want it with horse barn and no useable land. But we still have to pay taxes on 3 1/2 acres. And they will have to come and maintain their trees and be here on our land. Kaitlyn is just sick at the possiblity of losing her horse and goats. We don't have the money to do all this work or the money to feed animals that can't graze on the land they live on because a couple fish might be in the creek. Next the fish and wildlife dept. are coming out and they will probally find more things we can't do. Like breath the air and pollute the eagle that lands in our trees. OMG JUST SICK and scared. Thanks for listening to me vent. Need a llama? how about a goat or two? Where to start and what to do. WE LOVE OUR ANIMALS!! I know we have lots but we take care of them and thought we were doing better moving here. Can't stop crying gotta go.

This is Kiwi. Amanda and I decided to get Kaitlyn a puppy for her birthday a little early. I pray it makes Cinders passing a little smoother. We had a glimpse of what it would be like a couple weeks ago when Cinder had a couple really bad days. Then she snapped out of it and we are back to wondering which day will be the end. Kailtlyn didn't know anything about Kiwi until Amanda showed up with her in her purse. No more big dogs here. Lots of things to remember about puppies. It's been 5 years since we had a puppy around. Kiwi is a dauchund/ chihuahua cross. Very tiny so far. Very sweet with sharp teeth. Cinder thinks she's cute but doesn't want to play with her. Tori (hound dog) loves her and Dakota thinks she's kinda scary. He is afraid of stepping on her. Kaitlyn is in charge of house breaking and feeding while at home but the rest of the time I have another job.

24 hour makeover

I spent Saturday painting and wallpapering my bathroom off my bedroom. I am almost done and so far I like it. I painted the old ugly wood cabinets, the waincoating and the walls. Put up a wallpaper border and decorated the walls and shelves with all my garage sale finds. Now my floor looks terrible but one thing at a time. I need a new mirror too.

When we went to Gas works Park we walked up Kite hill and discovered a sun dial. It had all the zodiac signs as well as numbers out of different colored tiles etc. Kaitlyn thought it was the best part of the park. The rose was at the front of the sun dial. When you got to the top of the hill you could see Seattle in the background to one side with kites flying in the air. Behind the other way was the gas pipes and park. It was a cool suprise at the top of the hill.

Formed out of concrete and delineated with rocks, shells, glass, bronze and many other materials the sundial tells time by using the body of the visitor as stylus. The viewer’s shadow tells the time of day and the season. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gas_Works_Park

Today was so nice outside that it seems like Spring but I am sure it won't last. We worked on the flowerbeds and then Kaitlyn went out and rode horse. Two of the cats came out to watch. While Kaitlyn was riding I was grathering golf balls from the field. It is amazing how many different types of golf balls there are. Living accross the road from a golf course we get quite a few. Love the orange and yellow ones this time. We have had other colors at different times.
Cinder took a turn for the worst not as bad again she snapped out of it. Not as well as last time but again we got paniced and relieved One day at a time.

Ed brought matching boxes home from work so Caiden and Kaley (Pam's little girl) could make box homes as Caiden calls them. They decorated them and now they are

my newest furniture. Kaitlyn drew TV's, Beds, and pictures inside for them. They are loving their box homes. Caiden's is full of all kinds of treasures but Kaley's is empty and neat.
Life is pretty much the same around here cold. I am looking forward to the weekend of scrapbooking.

Cinder is still feeling good. She has been sleeping during the day and hanging with Kaitlyn after she gets home. She doesn't let Kaitlyn or I go anywhere even the bathroom without making sure she is right there. guess she doesn't want to miss anything.
Well I'm off to finish packing for the weekend.

Kaitlyn's dog Cinder has Spleen Cancer and is dying. But each day from here out is one more day we have with her. She is feeling much better then last weekend. The vet says it could be any day or some time. No way of knowing. The ultra sound, biopsy, surgery would be over $2000 and the vet says there is little chance she would have any quality of life if she came through surgery. She is old. SO here are a couple pictures of Kaitlyn and Cinder over the years. One of Cinder's favorite things was camping, where she could fetch and swim all day. She has been at Kaitlyn's side since Kaitlyn was 2. She is very protective of Kaitlyn. She has never been mad at Kaitlyn for anything, always just loves her no matter what. She was suppose to be around until Kaitlyn graduated but I guess not. We will miss her soooooooo much. Just a couple weeks ago she was out catching snowballs with Kaitlyn. She has gotten much sicker since then. ANd much thinner.

Caiden came and spent the night so he could make some cookies for santa. By the time we were done there was flour and sprinkles everywhere. Of course Caiden had nothing but his undies on because he didn't want his clothes to get stuff on them. He helped Kaitlyn add sprinkles to hers too (she didn't think that was a good idea) Santa ate the cookies he took home and left out. He was thrilled to have his own cookies for Santa. Santa came last night for him cause he has to go to his dad's tonight.

A white Christmas is nice, but this is a bit much. It seems strange that we should be on our way to Christmas with relatives and instead we are out watching the snow fall at home. We woke up to another 10 inches and it's still snowing. We will be going to Dee and Omars for Christmas dinner. Thank you for the invite!

Well Kaitlyn and I are sitting here singing loudly (and Out of tune I might add) to Reba MacEntires Christmas CD and wishing the snow would go away or at least warm up a little. It's not fun anymore. Looks like we won't be going to Shelton for Christmas afterall. It will be the first time in 15 years.

Here are a couple pictures of the goats as they decided they had been in the barn long enough and went out to find that the trees had blown branches into their pen. (SCORE!!)

I am getting real tired of hauling water from the house to the barn and cleaning up snow everytime the dogs come in from going outside.

This was at 3PM today and still snowing. Amanda had a heck of a time driving home. Then got stuck in our driveway but finally made it home.

Just a little picture of the ice now. A couple days ago it was about 1 inch thick today it is 2 1//4 inches thick. BURRR!!! This is a piece of ice from out by the barn.

I walk Pam's little girl to school in the morning and with the wind it is very cold out there. Hope everyone is staying warm inside. The trouble with being a hobby farmer is hauling water in the winter because everything freezes.

I picked 13 pumpkins in the garden some are green but the vines are dead becuase of frost. These are from the seeds of Kaitlyn's pumpkin she carved last year. I saved the seeds and dried them and planted them this year.

Well we started to paint the house then it started to rain and hasn't let up in days. Looking forward to it being done. My dad has been helping with the painting. I don't know how he can go up and down that ladder so much. I get so sore.
Missing Dominic but I guess Carl and Kaisha are busy with their lives. I miss not seeing him as much. Caiden keeps saying that he thinks Dominic missing him.
Caiden asked me today, very serious "why everybody has to have a butt??" I thought about it for a sec. Thinking he was thinking about something else. And said well if you didn't have a butt what would you sit on and he said "OH yeah" and went on about his day. That's not the first answer that came to mind. Thank goodness I went with that one. KiDs!! Each day he askes some all important question that needs that all important answer.

NEW CAR!!

We got a new car! That is pretty exciting since we have been driving the van for 11 years. Ed has been eyeing the Chevy HHR since they came out in 2006. So he went out and bought one. OK it's not new but to us it's the newest car we have owned. It's a 2007. They are a retro car designed after the 1949 suburban and the SSR. And there is enough room behind the seat to fit all my scrapbook stuff. Or the dogs. It's navy blue. At least it gets better gas mileage then the van. Ed now has to get all his 70's and 80's tapes on CD's no cassette player in this car. Ha Ha.

After a hot day (86 degrees) at the Parade we all went back to Amanda's to Bar B Q and enjoy our Sun Burns.

The sun is making my gardens grow and bloom. We finally got the vegetable garden all done and everything is growing fast. We bought five more trees the other day and that required more digging and work but I am looking forward to fruit someday so far we have Apple, Pear, Plum and cherry trees. Plus we added some ornamental trees. Flowering plum, dogwood, Plus a cool cedar type. Chickens are all in the freezer and pigs are getting big. We added 4 Turkeys (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and just because) They won't be in the freezer for a few more months. Landscaping is so much work that I am sore everynight and go to bed early but I love it. Painting the house hopefully next week. Ok enough about Spring.

Dee added so many beautiful pictures of Kaitlyn that she took, but I just wanted to mention how thankful we are that she took so many beautiful pictures of our teenager. YIKES! hard to believe even for me. We are proud of her for how smart and grown up she is. Let's just hope she continues to make us proud and doesn't drive us too crazy. We were much younger the last time we had teenagers and it was hard enough. Ha Ha. We love you Kaitlyn

Hard to believe this little horse has been with us for 10 years. Amanda wanted a horse when she was 11 but we lived on 1 acre and the best we could do was a little horse that would be able to live on a small farm. He came to live with us at 5 weeks old and was just about the cutest thing I even saw come out of a horse trailer. His mom came with him until he was weaned. Amanda was so happy to have a horse she didn't care that she couldn't ride him. He was and is soooo spoiled rotten!!! He is a brat that gets away with so much trouble. Well Caiden has decided that Spunky is his horse and no one is arguing that. Guess mom has outgrown him. HAPPY 10th BIRTHDAY SPUNKY!!

We have added a few new animals to the farm. My dad has decided that we all need some chicken in the freezer for the wonter soooooo he went out and got a couple. (110 little chicks) then Ed decided that while we had the heat lamp on the 110 fryer chicks we should add a few egg layers. So he bought 15 future egg layers. Then we got two baby pigs for future ham and bacon.

Since this picture they have grown into real chickens.

Hello all, Just thought I would sign in and say Hi. I haven't done anything exciting or news worthy lately so nothing new to write about. Dee and I scrapbooked for a couple days and I managed to get 29 pages done, but that doesn't mean I am even close to caught up. I am now to April 2007 in the family book and in Dominic's first year book he is up to 9 months. (he is 17 months now) I only hope I can get a little closer at the crop Feb. 8-9. See you there.
Life on the farm is just muddy and cold this time of year. Yuk!

We had a white Christmas in Shelton with Ed's sister and family. Amanda and Caiden went with us on the trip.
When we got home we had a little more snow and Kaitlyn was able to make a big snowman. Caiden watching a movie on the way to Shelon. He was so quiet with the headphones in his ears.

This was the kitchen before the beautiful cabinets were removed.
This is the kitchen as of Sunday afternoon. The walls are all new the ceiling is new. The cabinets replaced. Erik standing in the middle of construction.

This is the living room after new sheetrock and ceiling. Still lots to do.
This is the new red metal roof in starting to go up.

This is the new front and the roof is almost done.

There is still tons to be done but it is getting much closer to being liveable. Even though they are living in it as it is being updated.

Well my dad moved to South Dakota 11 years ago and every since he has hated it there but the cost of houses here are so high that it was almost imposible for him and his wife to ever more back. Now he has finally sold his house in SD for 70,000. It was a victorian remodled home and very beautiful. He left this morning with all his belongings in a U-Haul and his wife and cat. They are moving into a fixer upper 9 minutes from the crazy farm. (my house) It will be fun for the grandkids to get to know their great grandpa!!! He is excited to be able to watch them grow. 4 generations living close together. Now I will have family besides my kids and nephews living close. Not that I have not considered all of Dee's family our family. The more the merrier. Anyway I hadn't posted anything in a while so thought I would. Enjoy the pictures of the new babies I added.
